Associate Arboricultural Consultant
We’re looking for a passionate and driven Associate Arboricultural Consultant to join our growing Arboriculture team at TG. What you will be doing:
- Key to the role will be the effective delivery of arboricultural planning services in the London and Southwest region
- You will contribute to the delivery of our arboriculture business strategy, by supporting growth in the team / region, diversifying our services and building new work streams
- You will be technically excellent and help shape innovation in the arboricultural team and across the wider business
- This will be a client facing role to advise on all aspects of BS5837 consultancy and arboricultural planning
- You will work across a range of sectors from residential, commercial and renewables, infrastructure projects and estate management
- You will need to navigate through data searches and arboricultural planning policy, whilst also making sure your findings and design advice get the spotlight at project team meetings
- With help and support from the wider team you will be leading on projects and the submission of planning documents from Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Method Statements, TPO works applications and site promotion work, learning from the team and guiding others as you develop your skills here at TG
- You will work collaboratively across our disciplines and promote interdisciplinary working with our landscape and ecology teams.
- You will have the opportunity to lead technical innovation for the TG arb team.
- You will build strong working relationships with existing and new clients, helping to build the pipeline of work for the region and wider team.
- You will mentor and develop junior members of the team and pursue team growth opportunities in the region.
- You will provide technical reviews of work completed by the team to ensure that our reports and services are delivered to a high standard.
We’re looking for an Arboricultural Associate who:
- Has in-depth working experience of BS5837 consultancy skills;
- Holds an academic qualification in arboriculture or a similar environmental discipline;
- Has a technical (or higher) membership with the Arboricultural Association;
- Has particular interest in the technical side of arboriculture in the context of the UK planning system;
- Experience using AutoCAD and GIS is welcomed and knowledge of the UK planning system as it relates to trees is essential
- Enjoys building relationships with clients and networking across the industry;
- Has some experience of mentoring or helping guide the careers of more junior team members
- Is proactive and solution-focused, always willing to give something a go;
- Has strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Has strong organisational and management skills; and
- Is aligned with our company values.

Salary: £50,040 - £57,700 per annum (plus £3k higher cost of living allowance for London candidates), dependent upon experience
